Pilot program

Ten firms, before everyone else

We are taking on 5 law firms and 5 accounting practices ahead of general release. Half price, and a working relationship where what you need shapes what gets built next.

50% off every seat · from $15 per user / month · held for a year after launch

Put your firm forward

What you get

  • Direct access to the people building it. Not a support queue. You will have our numbers.
  • Your priorities on the roadmap. What a pilot firm needs gets built before what we guessed.
  • Help moving your data across. We take your export from whatever you use now, map it, and check it with you before anything is written.
  • 50% off every seat, for the whole pilot. A Practice-band seat is $15 a month instead of $30, and every band is halved the same way.
  • That price held for a year after general release, whatever the list price does by then.
  • No obligation at the end. If it is not right, you take your data and go. Exports are yours whenever you want them.

What we ask

  • Bill real work through it. A pilot that nobody uses teaches us nothing, and wastes your time more than ours.
  • Half an hour every couple of weeks. What broke, what annoyed you, what you needed and could not find.
  • Tell us when it is wrong. Bluntly. The whole point is hearing it now rather than after launch.
  • Permission to name you as a reference if it goes well, and only then. Never without asking.

Two trades

What a pilot looks like for your practice

Law firms

Time, flat fees and expenses against matters, invoices your clients pay online, and LEDES 1998B for the insurers and corporate clients that will not take a PDF.

On trust accounting, we would rather go slowly. Start with billing and keep your IOLTA where it is, or run both in parallel for a month and compare. Moving client funds onto software nobody has stress-tested is not something we will push you into, and the three-way reconciliation will still be here when you are ready.

Apply as a law firm

Accounting practices

Work organized by engagement, monthly fees raised on schedule rather than retyped, and a QuickBooks Online connection that brings your invoices across, posts the ones you raise here if you want it to, and carries payments both ways, so one bill never reads as open in one place and paid in the other.

Your books stay where they are. ModusBill is not a general ledger and will not try to be one. It handles the billing and keeps QuickBooks in step, which is the half that usually gets done twice by hand.

Plainly

What you are signing up to

ModusBill is built and working, in English and Spanish, and it is early. You would be among the first firms running it, which is the point and also the risk. Things will be missing. You will find them before we do.

What we can promise is that your data is yours, that you can export it whenever you like, and that we will tell you what is not ready rather than letting you discover it on an invoice day. If that trade is not one you want to make, the ordinary free trial is there and there is no hard feeling in taking it instead.

5 places for law firms, 5 for accounting practices

Tell us about your firm and we will arrange a call. If the fit is not right we will say so, and point you somewhere that suits you better.
