ModusBill against the systems firms move from

Honest side-by-side pages. Each one says who should choose the other product, because if we only listed what we do better you would not believe the rest. Every one ends with how to bring your data across.

What is the same on every page

ModusBill is legal billing and IOLTA trust accounting, not practice management. It does not do calendaring, document management, client intake or CRM, and it does not pretend to. It does time, flat fees, expenses, retainers, trust ledgers that cannot go negative, three-way reconciliation, invoices with online payment, LEDES 1998B export and A/R reporting, in English and Spanish, with every feature in every tier at one per-user price. If the billing side of a broader suite is what frustrates you, that is the comparison to make. If you need the suite, the other product is the better choice and the page will say so.

Moving your data

Each of the three systems exports its records as CSV. ModusBill imports clients, matters, unbilled time and expenses, invoices, payments, A/R balances and trust balances from those files: you map the columns once, ModusBill checks every row and shows exactly what it will create before anything is written, and the whole import can be undone afterwards. Read the guides for the trust accounting and LEDES background behind the comparisons.

See it against your own matters
